Silom & Sathorn
Sky Bars & Business District
Why Visit Silom & Sathorn?
Silom and Sathorn form Bangkok's financial heart — glass towers by day, sky bars by night. This is where you'll find Lebua's famous Sky Bar (from "The Hangover Part II"), the sprawling green oasis of Lumphini Park, and Patpong's legendary night market. The area bridges old and new Bangkok beautifully: Hindu temples sit next to five-star hotels, and street food vendors set up outside corporate lobbies every evening.
Silom Road runs east-west and connects to the BTS at Sala Daeng and Chong Nonsi stations. Sathorn Road runs parallel, one block south, and is home to many embassies and luxury hotels. Lumphini Park anchors the eastern end — it is Bangkok's answer to Central Park, complete with monitor lizards the size of small dogs.
