Dress Codes
Premium rooftops enforce dress codes. Get this wrong and you will be turned away at the elevator.
- Men: long pants (no shorts), closed shoes (no flip flops), shirt with sleeves
- Women: smart casual, no flip flops
- Sirocco/Sky Bar: stricter - no T-shirts, no sneakers
- Octave, Above Eleven: smart casual relaxed
- Mahanakhon SkyWalk: dress code lighter (it's observation deck-style)
Pack one nicer outfit for Bangkok rooftops. Even one rooftop night per trip is worth the extra suitcase space.
Best Sunset Spots
Aim to arrive 45 minutes before sunset to grab a railing seat. Sunset times: 6:00-6:45pm depending on month.
- Vertigo - 360-degree view, west-facing for sunset
- Sirocco - dramatic stairway entrance, river angle
- Cloud 47 - quieter, west-facing
- Mahanakhon SkyWalk - highest, all directions
Reservations
Sirocco and Vertigo: book through the hotel website 1-2 weeks ahead for weekends. Octave: walk-in usually fine, book for groups of 4+. Mahanakhon: timed-entry tickets for the SkyWalk (฿880).

Tips for First-Timers
- Skip the rooftop if it is raining - they close in storms
- Happy hour 5-7pm at Octave, Above Eleven, Cloud 47
- Mahanakhon SkyWalk goes on the activity budget, not the bar one
- For best photos, arrive at golden hour and stay through blue hour
- Bring a light jacket - the wind picks up after sunset
Lebua's Sky Bar (the Hangover bar) is iconic but the cocktails are pricey. Many people do one drink there for the photo, then dinner elsewhere.
